Description

The Congo Outing II Swing Set provides an abundance of fun activities for kids in a reasonably sized design. With swings, a climbing wall, a wave slide, and a play deck, your kids will find plenty to keep them entertained. This swing set is constructed from choice grade, factory-stained cedar wood that is naturally resistant to rot, decay, and insect damage. These beams are held together securely with galvanized, countersunk bolts to resist weather and provide an added element of safety.

I bought this swingset for my kids. 2 yrs, 1 yr, one on the way. It is perfect. A very compact footprint for my narrow backyard. Take the time to separate all of the wood parts, nuts, bolts, washers, etc. This will save so much time. It took my father and I 8 hours to sort and assemble. A third person would have been big help to sort and bring parts. Take your time, don't get frustrated. Your hard work will payoff. Please note that I added a bucket seat swing for my younger kids. The set comes with a trapeeze that I will eventually use. [...] Now that it's here and assembled, it is the perfect addition to our backyard.

    I researched a lot of wooden swing sets and read a lot of reviews. I almost didn't buy one because of the bad things I was hearing like split wood, missing hardware, bad instructions, etc. Then I came across the Gorilla brand. All the reviews were really good. I bought it and in two afternoons my husband and adult son had it put together and ready to play on. The construction is really good, with heavy weight hardware and easy to read instructions with very good pictures to go with it and the fact that the holes were predrilled.....big timesaver. I know my grandchildren will enjoy this for many years. Thank you Gorilla.

          We bought this for our grandchild, who lives in Utah, for his 1st birthday. Our son assembled this (with a friend) in just 4 hours. Our grandson and other children have enjoyed it. We have yet to see how it survives the hot summers and severe winters in Utah. The only negative comment is that one of the wooden pieces (a board in part of the top of the swing set) has already cracked, and it was just put up about 6 weeks ago, in August.

The lumber and hardware for this set is high quality. Even with the 13 year old on the swings, it seems very sturdy.It does take awhile to put together.               Q2: What is the dimension of the platform?

              A: The platform play area is 4x6. 

              Q3: What is the recommended age and weight for children on this Gorilla Playset Congo?

              A: It is recommended that children ranging from ages 3 to 11 years play on this swing set.  There are separate weight requirements for this play-set; the fort holds up to 800 lbs, the swings hold up to 175 lbs, and the slide holds up to 250 lbs. 

              Q4: Exactly what type of wood is used in this swing set? Is it pressure-treated lumber or cedar or ash - I would like to know before purchasing.

              A: The wood on the Congo Outing II Wood Swing Set is Asian Cedar. Because of its natural resistance to pests and rot, it does not need to be pressure treated.

              Q5: Is it possible to build structure without the swingset attached, or do you have a set that comes without the swing component?

              A: While you can build this swing set and not attach the swings, this is the only configuration this item comes in.
